Guide · Updated 7 August 2026 · imageto10kb

Every commission publishes its own photo and signature rules, and they are scattered across dozens of notifications. This page pulls the most-searched ones into a single reference so you can find your exam, see the exact file size and dimensions, and resize your image in one click. Bookmark it — the requirements below cover the biggest Indian and Pakistani application portals.

The file sizes and dimensions above reflect the specifications published for the 2026 application cycles. Because commissions occasionally adjust the rules for a specific post or exam, always cross-check the exact numbers in your own advertisement or information bulletin before you submit.

How to use these numbers

Each row links to a tool preset that already has the size and dimensions filled in — open it, drop your image, and download a file that fits. If your form lists a slightly different limit, just change the target box to match. Everything runs in your browser, so your photo and signature are never uploaded to a server.

A note on minimum sizes

Where a range is given (for example 20–50KB), aim for the upper end rather than the smallest possible file. Landing near the top of the range keeps your photo sharp while staying inside the limit, and it avoids the "file too small" rejection that catches people who over-compress.

Formats

Notice that nearly every portal wants JPG/JPEG. If your image is a PNG, WebP or an iPhone HEIC file, convert it to JPG when you compress. Only a few forms (like some NTS tests) also accept PNG.

💡 Tip: resize your photo and signature once at the start of an exam season and keep the files — you will usually reuse the same specifications across several applications.
